Story of a Scout

Chasing a dream

  • the Dream

Love of the Scout began with classic films like Empire Records, Desperado, and Deliverance. A glimpse of one here or there. It was a dream to own one, but options in Australia were scarce. Then, in 1998, fate intervened: I found a neglected Scout 80 in a backyard, ready to be rescued.

  • the Journey

We all have ideas, things that interest us, a passion, creativity. Dads especially and a lot of us don’t take action. I think its why I’ve held onto the Scout since my 20’s. Its rebuild a journey with my Grandfather & Father. That was over 20yrs ago and when we started a family I parked the Scout and opted for something safer and more practical.

  • the Project

Now a father of three, I’ve realised you have to take action, make your dreams a reality so your kids see you accomplish things. For me its been riding motorbikes in unusual places in Australia and around the world. I almost parted with the Scout, then realised this project is a chance to make memories with my kids.
